Dinner in the Wild 2009: Construction Zone

Dinner in the Wild is one of MNS’s primary means of raising critical annual support for our mission of inspiring minds through nature and science. The funds from this event support education and scholarship programs, enable us to continue ongoing research and collections management, present engaging exhibitions, host fascinating traveling exhibitions, and more.

Dinner in the Wild 2009: Construction Zone took place on November 19, 2009 at the construction site for the new museum facility in Victory Park. The facility’s groundbreaking the day before inspired the evening’s theme.

The Chairs for this year’s event were Ka & L.L. Cotter. Honorary Chairs were Sarah & Ross Perot Jr., Nancy Perot Mulford, Suzanne & Patrick McGee, Carolyn and Karl Rathjen, and Katherine Perot. The evening began with a silent auction and cocktail reception. A variety of unique auction items were creatively displayed around the event’s construction-themed décor. Following the silent auction, the guests were treated to a wonderful dinner, created especially for MNS by Kent Rathbun Catering.

This year’s event boasted the most total proceeds and the largest total attendance to date for Dinner in the Wild.
