Nurture your baby’s or young child’s constant quest for answers and stimulate his or her vivid imagination through Little Explorers. This program is created especially for you and your child, ages 6 months-4 years, to enjoy and explore together.

Please note: only children who are enrolled in the program may attend.  Additional infants and/or siblings who are not officially enrolled cannot participate. Thank you for your understanding.

Scribbles and Dribbles

Discover how much power a scribble of crayon or a dribble of paint can hold! It’s never too early to introduce your child to self-expression by encouraging them to draw on their own creativity.

Fall 2010 Theme: “Good Enough to Eat!”
Discover how one of your best sources for developing creativity and sensory exploration for your toddler may be in your very own kitchen pantry! Weekly sessions are inspired by American painter, Wayne Thiebaud, known for his colorful and whimsical food paintings. Experience a taste of creativity using simple and safe kitchen gadgets and ingredients to whip up one-of-a-kind masterpieces. We’ll add a dash of music and motion at the end of each session.

Science Buddies

How many times have you been asked, “Why"? Now you can show your child how to find out by taking them on their first steps through the scientific method —making observations, testing ideas, and answering questions.

Fall 2010 Theme: “Science Stew”
Did you know lots of exciting learning takes place in your kitchen everyday? You can be munching up a math sandwich or exploring color concepts while eating a fruit salad and not even know it! Mix up a little math and chemistry using simple and safe kitchen ingredients to conduct fun science experiments. Prepare a healthy morning snack to much up a little math of your own. Enjoy a themed story time and create a lab report to take home at the end of the session.
