DNA can be used to detect diseases, improve crops or catch criminals. The information in DNA sequences has been harnessed for a multitude of tasks, but how is DNA put to work? Through interactive multimedia activities, you can explore some of the applications of DNA technology and discover the many ways these uses may affect your life.

Putting DNA to Work is an engaging interactive exhibit at MNS where visitors to the museum can investigate how inherited and infectious diseases are identified and explore the various uses of DNA analysis in criminal forensics and crop improvement.

Putting DNA to Work encourages visitors to examine DNA sequences and see how that knowledge can be used to unlock the secrets hidden in our genes.  The hands-on exhibit, best enjoyed by teenagers and adults, is an accessible way for visitors to learn about one of today’s hottest scientific topics.

Explore some of the fascinating ways DNA technology helps us out every day!
