Rare Triceratops Skelton Visits MNS

On display through June, 2011

The Museum of Nature & Science is no stranger to dinosaur skeletons, but this 65 million-year-old Triceratops fossil is especially unique. It is 75% genuine bone and is unusually large (19 feet long, 11 feet wide and 12 feet tall) - the top size range for Triceratops. The bones were discovered in 2004 in Hell Creek, South Dakota.

The Museum is hosting this specimen for Heritage Auction Galleries. Heritage is planning to auction the Triceratops this Spring. It is scheduled to be displayed at the Museum of Nature & Science Science Building Lobby through June. Click here to learn more about this rare fossil.
